Social Media

Our District has a variety of social media we use to promote our events with discussion among members. We have two Facebook sites – a Page and a Group. The latter will not work with the footer widget, so it is displayed here. Our page feed is displayed on the bottom menu, as it will work with the footer widget. Our Feeds are limited to the 5 most recent posts for each feed. Known problem – Mobile version is not showing a few clubs properly, but does work on desktop version.

For more of the feed, please visit District 4-C4 Facebook Group Page

Lions District 4-C4 (San Francisco, San Mateo County & Palo Alto)

Welcome! This is your gateway to the Lions of District 4-C4, from San Francisco to San Mateo County and including Palo Alto - 52 clubs in all and nearly 1,700 members. The motto of Lions, "We Serve", says it all. Lions International is the largest service organization in the world whose members seek to serve their communities and those in need. We are proud to say that where Lions go, problems get solved and lives get better. WHERE THERE'S A NEED, THERE'S A LION You don't have to be a Lions member to enjoy many of the incredible fundraising events such as pancake breakfasts, crab feeds, dinner/dances and sports events. You can also learn more about the valuable services Lions provide in our communities such as vision and hearing care, veterans support, blood drives and youth service and sports. All Lions are encouraged to use Facebook to communicate to members and community members. It is a great tool to publicize upcoming projects and events. Non-Lions are welcome to join our group and stay informed. Who knows? You just might want to JOIN US!

Dear fellow 4-C4 Lions,

I thought I would share with you an e-mail (see below) I received earlier this week from 4-C2 1st VDG Barry Bialkoski - an update regarding our dear neighbors up North in District 4-C2. Thanks to the generosity of LCIF emergency grant and 25 Lions Clubs plus over 25 individual donations, they received $87K in total.

I was proud that our Millbrae Lions Club/Leos Club and our Millbrae Community was able to raise/donate $45.5K to that $87K grand total.

In his e-mail, Lion 1st VDG Barry Bialkoski mentioned about the 2010 San Bruno PG&E Fire experience and while it was a terrible event, it was a proud moment when our Lions in District 4-C4 came together to help our dear neighbors in San Bruno. Here's a video (created by our Millbrae Lions PP Randy Sahae) that captures our efforts in action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAWWO3kA1t8

While we continue to serve our community we reside in, please continue to keep your thoughts for a speedy recovery for our neighbors in District 4-C2.

E-MAIL FROM 4-C2 1st VDG Barry Bialkoski

Subject: Disaster Relief in North counties

Lion DG Leslie A. Mize showed me your email and i am glad to get back to you and report what is going on as far as helping people involved in the horrific fire.

During the disaster first month we provided blankets, cloths bedpans, dog leashes, medical visa cards for the trauma center, saline solution, brushes, socks, baby food, and the simple things you would not even think of. Think of running out of your house with maybe the cloths on your back.

We phoned what Lions to be found and not running for their life they were fortunate to be able to help. the initial help of the Redwood Lions Memorial Foundation, than LCIF emergency grant and than thru the generosity of over 25 Lions clubs such as yours. We also had over 25 individuals make donations for the disaster.

Now comes the tough part, what do you do for the long term needs.

I joined the disaster relief program of all the agencies in the Sonoma county area to find ways to interact with all the community agencies and also informed all the clubs that they may have long term affects for fund raising to help there specific needs.

We are kept abreast thru FEMA, County, and City agencies where the needs are and can program our resources thru each lions club in the affected area. One family at a time and their specific needs.

Your San Bruno fire gave you a feeling of what our area went thru, so over the next two to five years we are programming the money to serve the needs of all the clubs fire needs.

We have spent about seventeen thousand upfront and have reserved seventy thousand for those cut off from the end of Fema programs and Red Cross help.

For privacy issues we were asked not to take pictures, but in the future Gov Les and I are more than happy to come down if you want us and answer any and all questions .

Lions are great and We Serve sure fits the bill.

Sincerely Barry B 1VDG

There was a strong presence of MILLBRAE LIONS MOJO this past Tuesday as the Millbrae City Council and Millbrae Chamber of Commerce honored eight local organizations during the 19th Annual Excellence in Business Awards. The organizations were recognized for their work to support and improve the Millbrae community and economy.

* Bronzini Dental Group - Business of the Year (led by Lion PP Dr. Joe Bronzini)
* MILLBRAE LEOS - Chamber Excellence Award
* Aloft Hotel - Distinction in Tourism Award
* Living Spaces - Downtown Beautification Award
* Community Partner Awards:
- SSF Scavenger Company (led by SSF Scavenger President Doug Button who is also a Millbrae Lion)
- One Martial Arts
- Provident Credit Union

In addition, the MILLBRAE LIONS was also recognized for their 80 years of Community Service. Also note that Dr. Bronzini is a Millbrae Lions Past President and his son Dr. Nicholas Bronzini is also a Millbrae Lion. President Doug Button for SSF Scavenger is also a Millbrae Lion.

Millbrae Lion PP John Muniz, also a dedicated Millbrae Leo Advisor since the "re-birth" of our Millbrae Leos in April 2007 was proudly on hand as our amazing Millbrae Leos (our future) received their award.

Congratulations to all for the well deserved recognition!

The Leo District 4-C4 and it's member clubs celebrated this holiday season by giving back, this time to our nation's veterans. Leos Clubs and their members sponsored 40+ veterans from the Homeless Veterans' Rehabilitation Program, purchasing personalized presents from their wishlist and presenting them on December 21, 2017 at the Menlo Park VA (HVRP).

Thank you to Leo District 1VP Elise Kratzer and Leo District Pres. Dina Zheng for spearheading this project, as well as all the Leos, Lions, and VA staff that made this event possible. Good work, #Leos!

Foster City Lions Club

Chartered in 1967, the Foster City Lions Club has been a vital force in the development and growth of our city. Our motto, the same as that of Lions International and the more than 40,000 clubs worldwide, is "We Serve." We do so by striving to make our community a better place to live and by trying to enrich the lives of those who are less fortunate. Lions clubs are neither religious nor political organizations, nor formed for business purposes. Our approximately 80 members both work and enjoy socializing together. Please spend a few minutes perusing our site to find out more about Lions and our specific club activities. If we have aroused your interest, you can inquire how you might become a member of our club, which has been given the district "Top Club Award" seven years in a row. We welcome like-minded people, regardless of gender, creed or nationality.
