Lion Joe Mc Loughlin passed on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at his home in Menlo Park at age 92. He has been a Lion for over 37 years and very involved in not only the Lions but other community activities.

His family has advised us that a Mass will be at The Church of the Nativity, 210 Oak Grove Avenue in Menlo Park, California on Thursday, August 20th beginning at 10 am. After Mass is celebrated there will be a reception in the rear hall behind the Church.

It is requested by the Family that rather than flowers that donations to the Lions Eye Foundation or the Lions Hearing Foundation by check would be appreciated . Those donations should be mailed to Menlo Park Live Oak Lions Club, P.O. Box U, Menlo Park, Ca. 94026 of which Lion Joe was a member. Lion Joe served actively until about six months ago when his health became a limiting factor until his passing. He he still had his Irish sense of humor and smile even on the day of his passing.

Lion Joe has been an extremely active Lion for most all of his 37 years in Lions. He has worked hard in support of the Palo Alto Farmers Market on Saturday and the Menlo Park Live Oak Lions Sunday Farmers Markets. He has provided boxes, transportation for the donated produce to the needy such as St. Anthony’s and Little House. He has worked on Habitat for Humanity new homes many years on Rebuilding Together (formerly Christmas in April). He has Co-Chaired the Club Student Speakers Contest for many years. He has done White Cane Days and Hearing Days collections for lots of years. Lion Joe has always been available for the many community projects for those in need. He has been very giving of his time to the Lions, Little House and The Church of the Nativity. He has delivered “Meals on Wheels” to seniors in need, he has been a cashier at Little House with many more volunteer hours to seniors. More information will be coming out soon. He and his wife Eleanor have been married for over 66 years, they have 5 daughters, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a fifth on the way.
