It is with deep and heartfelt sadness that the Burlingame Lions Club announces the passing of Past District Governor Albert J. “Al” Leyva on August 6, 2015, at the age of 90.

Lion Al joined the Burlingame Lions Club on October 1,1970, and remained an active “life” member for the past 45 years. Al served in all capacities in the Burlingame Lions Club and in many leadership capacities in District 4-C4, including District Governor (1996-1997) where his motto was “Commitment To Responsibility”.

Professionally, PDG Al served in the plumbing trade and worked in the Burlingame area and throughout the SF Bay Area. PDG Al and his loving wife, Susan, moved from Burlingame to Brentwood a number of years ago, but he still remained a faithful BLC member. He was one of ten PDG’s that the Burlingame Lions Club produced to serve in District 4-C4.

PDG Al was preceded in death by his wife Susan, only 5 months ago.

Services in memory of PDG Al will be held at Noon on Saturday, August 22, at Crosby N. Gray, 2 Park Road in Burlingame.

At the request of the children, donations in the memory of Lion PDG Al can be made to the Lions Eye Foundation of CA or a local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Foundation/Association.

Cards or other expressions of sympathy should go to daughter Gayl who lives in San Mateo.
