Campaign Update – September 8, 2018
Amy and I are very pleased with the response and support of Lions throughout California. Although we have only visited a few districts, we are confident we will make contact with all 15 Districts by election time.
Our main goal is to encourage Lions of 4-C4 to prepare for the big election at the MD4 Convention in Sacramento on February 8-10, 2019. This is the state convention and delegates from all 15 California Lions Districts will be attending to vote for the next International Director from California.
In addition, we have scheduled a Campaign Fundraiser for Sunday, October 14 – a picnic gathering at San Bruno City Park. Details to follow.
On October 25-28 we will travel to Santa Maria, Ca. for the Fall Meeting of the Council of Governors. The Council comprises the District Governors and 1st & 2nd Vice District Governors of all 15 Districts. California Lions will converge on the Radisson Hotel to hear from the candidates – the first opportunity to present before
the Council. We will have a hospitality suite for Oct. 26 and 27 and are asking for volunteers to help organize and serve. Radisson Hotel, 3455 Skyway Drive, Santa Maria, 93455. (805) 928-8000 Until 09/24/18 Mention Lions COG to receive discounted rate of $110.00 plus taxes.

What you can do to help Elect Lion Ken for ID:
1) BECOME A CLUB DELEGATE – Each Lions club in good standing is allowed (1) one delegate for every (10) ten members. Inform your club president and secretary that you want to be a delegate. Delegate forms will be submitted at least 15 days prior to the start of the convention. Make sure you are listed on the form.
2) BOOK YOUR ROOM FOR MD4 CONVENTION – Room reservations are now available at the DOUBLETREE HOTEL off Arden Way in Sacramento. SEE THE SEPARATE INFORMATION SHEET.
3) REGISTER AND ATTEND MD4 CONVENTION AND VOTE FOR KEN – All voting delegates must Register for Convention and be Certified to vote by Saturday afternoon, February 9. Voting is Sunday morning, February 10.
PLEASE NOTE THAT EACH DELEGATE MUST ARRIVE NO LATER THAN SATURDAY AFTERNOON, FEBRUARY 9 AND STAY OVERNIGHT TO VOTE SUNDAY FEBRUARY 10.
