Local Governing Documents

These documents are maintained by the Constitution and Bylaws Committee, which can be contacted at policy@lions4c4.org for questions and clarification. Officially:

Any Lion member, of this District, who believes that action or policy of this District is in conflict with this policy Manual shall refer the question of the action or policy to the Constitution and By-Laws Committee for disposition 45 days prior to the next cabinet meeting.

Lions District 4-C4 Policy Manual Section 2.2.1

Lions District 4-C4 is a 501(c)(4) registered nonprofit with the State of California and the Internal Revenue Service with Employer Identification Number 51-0213386. Lions Clubs in good standing are also 501(c)(4) generally tax exempt organizations, as long as they continue to fulfill their filing obligations with the state and federal authorities. Information about tax exempt status can be fielded to the Compliance Committee at compliance@lions4c4.org. Contributions made to the District and our member clubs are generally not tax exempt, except in the case that a club has an associated 501(c)(3) foundation.

Non-Discrimination Policy

Lions Clubs International affirms a policy of non-discrimination. Lions clubs and members may not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, gender, marital status, age, disability, veteran status or any other legally protected status. A violation of this policy would be considered conduct unbecoming a Lion and/or Lions Club and may result in placing a club in “status quo” and/or cancelling a club charter in accordance with the policies set forth by the International Board of Directors.
