Dear Lions Club President:
The California Lions Foundation (CLF) recently conducted a ‘Giving Tuesday’ campaign. We are grateful for the positive response to this campaign. Between the donations from the ‘Giving Tuesday’ campaign and additional funds from our disaster Covid-19 relief account, CLF has allocated $15,000 ($1,000 per District) for immediate emergency food grants. Currently, eight “Feed the Hungry” grants, totally $6,250, have been provided to Lions Clubs in Districts C-3, C-4, C-5, A-3, L-4, and L-6.
There is $8,750 remaining for the “Feed the Hungry” campaign. CLF has extended the “Feed the Hungry” grant program to January 31, 2021.
CLF wants to support as many clubs as possible by offering “Feed the Hungry” disaster grants. The “Feed the Hungry” grant criteria is the following:
- Grant requests will be considered for Lions clubs conducting their own ‘Feed the Hungry’ project, or helping community partner organizations provide food, and/or meals to families in their community.
- If the Lions club is requesting funds in collaboration with a community partner, the club should have an existing relationship with the community partner.
- The Lions Club grant request should include a plan of action for a Lions-led effort that involves local Lions distributing or assisting in the preparation or delivery of CLF-funded food or meals.
- Recognition should be provided to the Lions Club and CLF for their participation and support of the hunger relief effort.
CLF will provide a $1,000 recognition donation (from CLF admin account) to the club which submits the most outstanding photo of Lions helping their community enabled by their CLF grant.
Please complete and submit the attached CLF ‘Feed the Hungry’ grant request and your club’s Plan of Action by January 31, 2021. Please send your completed submission to californialionsfoundation@gmail.com.
Yours in Service.
