Sunshine News

It is with great sorrow that we report the passing of Emerson Chin, a 38-year Life Member of the San Francisco Chinatown Lions Club who loved to chat with people, whether you just met him or was a long-time friend. He had a passion for many things, camping, Boy Scouts, skateboarding, 49ers, and baseball. We were told there was a movie loosely made about him, The Search of Animal Chin.

Click here for Lion Emerson’s obituary and/or to make a donation on his Everloved page. His celebration of life will be on March 19, 2023 at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City at 1 pm.

Lion Yvonne Kantola, Sunshine Chair

In spite of the cold and rain, yesterday’s District Eyeglass Collection led by Region 6 Chair Jeny Kwak Weber and Region 6 Zone 2 Chair Cori Carpenter yielded 24,000 pair of glasses for Lions In Sight. Thanks to volunteers for helping weight and load the truck: SF Chinatown Lion Yvonne Kantola, San Carlos Lion Michael Coffaro, Burlingame Lions Michael Cihak and Ken Ingram, Daly City Host Lion Denise Kelly. Thanks to all of the clubs that have been gathering the glasses all year! Click here for a list of yesterday’s clubs. Special thanks to Burlingame Lion Erik Winkler for driving the truck to Vallejo with Region 6 Chair Jeny Kwak Weber as navigator!

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like “free” “personalized” “complimentary” or “customized.” A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like “for a limited time only” or “only 7 remaining”!
