Dear Lions,
This communication serves as an official directive to all Lions clubs within District 4-C4 regarding the use of the District’s name, identity, photographs, and other visual materials in connection with club-sponsored activities, events, projects, and promotional communications.
Effective immediately, all clubs are expected to observe the following requirements:
1. Use of the District 4-C4 Name
Clubs shall refrain from referencing, representing, or using the name District 4-C4 in connection with any club-sponsored event, service project, fundraiser, promotional material, social media posting, or other activity without prior authorization from the District. Individual clubs operate independently in planning and conducting their activities. Accordingly, club-sponsored activities should be identified as the work and responsibility of the sponsoring club and should not imply District sponsorship, endorsement, participation, or approval unless expressly authorized.
2. Use and Reproduction of Photographs and Images
All clubs and their members must respect copyright protections and ownership rights when using photographs, graphics, illustrations, and other images. Clubs shall not reproduce, distribute, publish, or otherwise use photographs or images belonging to others without obtaining appropriate permission or confirming that the material is legally available for use.
This requirement applies to, but is not limited to:
- Club newsletters and publications.
- Websites and social media platforms.
- Event flyers, brochures, and promotional materials.
- Presentations and other public communications.
When permission is granted, any applicable attribution or usage conditions must also be observed.
3. Responsibility and Compliance
These requirements are being communicated to every Lions club in District 4-C4 with explicit importance. Club presidents, secretaries, and other club leaders are asked to ensure that their members, event coordinators, and communications personnel are aware of and comply with this directive. Please review existing promotional materials and communications to ensure that they are consistent with these requirements.
A Message of Importance
As Lions, we share a commitment to integrity, accountability, respect, and responsible representation of our organization. Protecting the District’s identity and respecting the intellectual property rights of others are important responsibilities that must be taken seriously.
This directive is not intended to restrict the independence or creativity of individual clubs. Rather, it establishes appropriate boundaries regarding the representation of the District and the responsible use of materials belonging to others.
Your immediate attention and cooperation are expected and appreciated.
Thank you for your leadership, your cooperation, and your continued dedication to serving our communities.
