Your HELP is needed NOW!

At this time of year it is very upsetting to hear that those without are being taken advantage of/stolen from. We have been advised that toys for children of Veterans were stolen – please see the emails below.

If you are able to, PLEASE replace the toys that were stolen. Because time is so short, we appreciate that you might want to give cash but the time to shop with your cash just isn’t there this time. If you are able to purchase toys and deliver by Sunday evening, please let us know. Please contact Cabinet Secretary Denise Kelly at 650-218-9960 or 1st Vice District Governor Kevin Guess at 650-630-5055 for a drop off location.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Good Evening fellow Lions;

I hope you all are well and getting ready for your Holiday. I felt the need to share the post below. It was submitted by one of our Charter members that for the last 10 years has participated and continues to volunteer to this Toy drive that supports Veterans who are inpatient and unable to provide gifts for the children in their families during their hospitalization. Please read his post and let your hearts speak on what to do to help restore what sadly has been taken from this group.

Very Best and Happy Holidays

Dear Lions:

Today I felt disrespected like never before. As most of you know that I’m part of “Toys 4 Kids ” for Brothers In Arms that are in programs. So yesterday we set out to pick up our yearly donations for this event. Low and behold what we encountered! The reality is that we had been taken advantage of. Our donations had already been picked up by individuals posing as VA employees for our group a week ago. As we interviewed those that turned over the donations over to whomever made the pick up. They said that they didn’t question them because they had VA badges on as well as paperwork with names and address of the pick ups they were going to make on that day. So considering I’ve been involved with this event for over 10 years I feel compelled to request that a donation be made to this event. We are lacking toys for 62 children: 37 girls and 25 boys. I’m also reaching out to any and all Lions that find it in their heart to (if possible) contribute to this event. We have 8 days to see what can be done. Thank you for all those that take time to read about this need wishing you all “Very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.
